White papers are complex projects involving a variety of sources, viewpoints and approval layers. Without some advanced thinking, content takes longer to develop and problems can bubble up throughout the process—sometimes much too late in the game. Fortunately, there’s a solution: the white paper plan (WPP).

In a nutshell, a WPP is a blueprint for your white paper project. Less than four pages long, it packs a big punch by addressing all of the important project management issues before the writing begins. It’s not an outline for the white paper itself, but addresses many critical variables that need to be decided ahead of time, including:

  • Business Goals
  • SEO Keywords
  • Reviewers
